A Little About Me
My Practice
My ideal client is someone who is deeply committed to their growth—curious, introspective, and ready to do the meaningful work of healing. You may be successful in many areas of life, yet still feel an inner restlessness or a longing for deeper clarity and alignment. You might be navigating complex questions around identity, purpose, or legacy—and you’re seeking a skilled, thoughtful therapist to help you explore those layers with nuance and care. Therapy with me isn’t just about symptom relief; it’s about transformation. I work best with individuals who are emotionally ready to invest in themselves and want a space where depth, honesty, and insight are welcomed.
My specialties include depression, anxiety, grief, existential concerns, and trauma—with a particular focus on bicultural identity and intergenerational healing. My approach draws from psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, multicultural psychology, LGBTQ-affirming care, and trauma-informed practice. I’m committed to ongoing growth—both through advanced training and the richness of my own lived experience. As an Arab-American who grew up in Lebanon, I bring a deep, personal understanding of what it means to hold multiple cultural narratives and navigate the complexity and beauty that can bring.
What I'm Like
My approach is collaborative and warm. I meet you where you are while finding ways to challenge you and help you grow from that space. All your emotions are welcome here—whether it’s a fierce, righteous anger at the world’s injustices, a deep-seated loneliness, or even the guilty pleasure of feeling joy when life is overwhelmingly complicated. We’ll connect authentically, unravel the stories woven through your personal, familial, and cultural experiences, and discover how to navigate your world with a little more freedom and lightness.
I received my BA in Psychology and Behavioral Science from McGill University and my MSW from Boston University. I completed a two-year post-graduate fellowship at Harvard Vanguard, followed by several years as a staff therapist at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. I am licensed in Massachusetts and soon in New York. I also spent a year as a “Traveling Therapist,” and I now consult with other clinicians interested in integrating travel, flexibility, and meaning into their professional lives.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
You can expect a space that is warm, grounded, and attuned to the complexities of your inner world. From our very first session, I aim to create an environment where you feel seen—not just for your struggles, but for your strength, insight, and capacity to grow. Together, we’ll explore what brings you in, what matters to you, and where you feel stuck or disconnected. Some sessions may feel emotionally charged and illuminating, while others may be quieter, reflective, or exploratory. All of it is part of the process.
My approach is collaborative and relational. I’ll meet you where you are, while also gently challenging you to explore deeper layers of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. I often draw connections between your present struggles and earlier life experiences—not to dwell in the past, but to understand how your story has shaped your sense of self, your relationships, and the ways you protect or limit yourself. We’ll also pay attention to your body, your cultural context, and the narratives you’ve inherited from family, community, or society.
Our work together might include identifying and shifting unhelpful beliefs, grieving losses, untangling identity questions, building emotional regulation skills, or exploring what it means to live a life that feels meaningful and congruent. I offer reflections, ask intentional questions, and invite you into a deeper relationship with yourself—at a pace that feels respectful and empowering.
Over time, many clients report feeling more clarity, emotional resilience, and freedom—internally and in how they move through the world.
Our first session
Our first session is a chance for us to slow down and get to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and anything you feel is important for me to understand about your story. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out—we’ll move at your pace. I’ll also share more about how I work and answer any questions you have about the therapy process. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling seen, a little more grounded, and with a sense of whether we’re a good fit for this work together.
