Testimonials

“Nadine was my first psychologist and I saw her at a time of life crisis. She helped me a lot to start the process of understanding myself and my emotions - a type of work I was doing for the first time. She helped me identify the thought patterns that were limiting me and also explained very useful tools and frameworks that I was able to use independently and still use to this day.”

A Little About Me

My Practice
I’m a Schema Therapy and CBT/REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) psychotherapist, and instructor for the College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CCBT, UK) in Lebanon, with 9 years of experience in my field. My speciality is individual adult therapy. I’ve lived most of my life in the UK, where I gained a B.Sc and a M.Sc in Psychology, as well as an Advanced Integrative degree in CBT/REBT. Lately I moved back to Beirut, where I now live and practice. I’m a Full Member in the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST), as well as an Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), UK. I believe in a compassionate and action-oriented approach when working with emotional problems. Depending on the person and their unique challenges in life, I will have recourse to an integrative approach bringing together elements from cognitive behavioural therapy, attachment and object relations theories, and Gestalt and experiential therapies. Some of my main areas of expertise are: • Emotional problems such as anxiety, depression, hurt, anger, guilt, shame, jealousy, and envy • Anxiety disorders e.g. social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorder • Dermatologically-related emotional problems e.g Psoriasis, Trichotillomania (hair-pulling) and Skin-picking • Problems with low self-esteem and confidence • Relational problems such as with partners, friends and family members • Maladaptive coping strategies carried from childhood patterns • Goal achievement problems Since moving to Lebanon, I’ve been teaching REBT in affiliation with the College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, UK (CCBT) as well as actively giving workshops on different subjects related to REBT.
What I'm Like
It's very important for me to build a strong and authentic alliance with my clients. I'm here to help them solve their emotional problems, heal and rebuild themselves. As a result, I'm compassionate, non-judgemental, and big on bringing safety, stability, and humor to the therapy room.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

You can expect to feel validated, supported and helped to reach your therapeutic goals. Sessions are 60 mins long, I start and end on time. My approach is warm, respectful, and friendly. Often you'll be left with new evidence-based practical tools to help you overcome your problems, and help you change your maladaptive coping strategies when triggered.

Our first session

This will be an introductory session, in which all basic mutual understanding is established. In it you'll be introduced to the different types of therapies I practice, as well as to the way I work. From my end, I'll be focusing on getting to know you and getting to understand your needs, problems and therapeutic goals so I can help you achieve them.
