A Little About Me

My Practice
As an integrative psychologist, my approach is grounded in the belief that no single model fits all — each person is unique, and so the therapeutic journey should be, too. I draw from a range of modalities (like person-centred, CBT, and psychodynamic) to tailor each session to the client’s needs and lived experience. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship and the connection we make with each other. I believe healing happens in a space where the client feels seen, safe, and empowered. I view the counselling space as collaborative. I walk with the client, not ahead of them. Sometimes this means challenging unhelpful patterns, and other times it means simply holding space for their pain, stories, or silence. I place strong emphasis on self-awareness, self-compassion, and supporting clients to reconnect with their own inner resources.
What I'm Like
I’m a psychologist who believes therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or stiff — it can be real, relatable, and even a little fun. I show up as my authentic self in sessions: down-to-earth, approachable, and genuinely curious about you. I won’t pretend to have all the answers, but I’ll walk beside you while we figure things out together. My style is a mix of compassion and straight talk. I’m not afraid to gently challenge you when needed, but I’ll also be your biggest cheerleader. I value honesty, humour, and human connection — sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, and sometimes we sit in the silence and just breathe. It’s all part of the process. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter therapy. Every person is different, so I adapt to what you need — whether it’s structure, space, tools, or just someone who really listens. My goal is to create a space where you can feel safe enough to be fully yourself, without judgement. If you're looking for a therapist who’s real, relaxed, and ready to get into the deep stuff without losing their sense of humour, you’re in the right place.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

I lean toward a directive approach, particularly when clients are feeling stuck or overwhelmed and benefit from clear guidance, tools, and structure. At the same time, I adapt my style based on the client’s needs — I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together to make sense of what’s going on and what needs to change.

Our first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so I want to make the process as comfortable and transparent as possible. In our first session, we’ll take things at your pace. There’s no pressure to dive into anything too deep right away. Think of it as a gentle conversation — a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to get a feel for how I work. We’ll talk about: What’s bringing you to therapy What you’re hoping to get out of it Any questions or concerns you have Your background, experiences, and what’s important to you You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to — I’ll follow your lead. I’ll also go over things like confidentiality, boundaries, and how we can work together in a way that feels safe and effective for you. By the end of the session, we’ll decide together if it feels like a good fit, and if so, we’ll begin shaping a path forward. Whether that’s short-term support, deeper long-term work, or just a space to process — we’ll figure it out together. It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous at first — but you won’t have to do it alone. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
