A Little About Me
My Practice
Malak is a Counseling Psychologist specializing in working with young adult and adults (18+). She has extensive experience treating a range of mental health concerns, including trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, adjustment issues, anger management, and interpersonal difficulties.
Adopting an eclectic therapeutic approach, Malak focuses on understanding her clients' past experiences, current behaviors, and thought patterns. She aims to empower individuals to gain self-awareness and reach their full potential.
Malak believes that therapy is a collaborative process where clients and therapists work together to explore the clients thoughts, feelings, and maladaptive patterns of behavior.
By tailoring her approach to each client's unique needs, she helps individuals develop strategies for personal growth and positive change.
What I'm Like
As a therapist, I desire to build a deep connection with every single one of my clients.
Therapy is not always intense, therapy is not always you crying and me listening.
Therapy is a human relationship. A relationship that is safe, and full of trust; a relationship full of hope, and light.
In therapy I feel your pain, I hold it with you till you are able to hold it again alone. I help you go through tough times knowing quite well that I'm here for support.
Therapy to me is very exciting. I get super excited before each session wondering what it will hold. Will it hold tears, laughter, revelations, or sometimes all three.
I'm also not what you think of when you imagine a traditional therapist. I don't come to work each day in a blazer, rest my glasses on my nose and expect you to lay on a couch and tell me all your secrets. Therapy, for me, is a lot more human, personalized and comlex than that: some times we'll play games together, sometimes we'll sit on the floor, do breathing exercises, and get ourselves grounded. Sometimes we'll have a secret handshake, and a lot of times we'll heal.
As I always tell my clients, we laugh together, cry together, and heal together.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
Our sessions are tailored to your specific needs. We'll begin with a holistic exploration of your personality, building awareness and understanding. Then, we'll shift our focus to goal-oriented strategies to stabilize and clarify your perspective. For deeper healing, we'll embark on a transformative journey of inner child work, addressing past wounds and fostering emotional growth.
Our first session
Your first step is the most important one. Come as you are, without any expectations or preparations. We'll create a comfortable environment where you can share your story and begin your journey of self-growth and empowerment.
