A Little About Me
My Practice
My practice in therapy is grounded in empathy, relational depth, and an unwavering belief in each person’s capacity for growth and healing. I take a Person Centred approach at the core, offering a warm, non judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted as they are. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for transformation, and I work to co create a space where clients feel safe to explore the layers of their experience at their own pace.
I integrate systemic thinking into my work, holding in mind the wider social, familial, and cultural contexts that shape a person’s life. Our identities, behaviours, and struggles do not exist in isolation, they are often responses to complex systems and relationships. This perspective allows me to support individuals while also exploring intergenerational patterns, power dynamics, and societal pressures that may be influencing their emotional world. Having worked extensively with families, Looked After Children, and Unaccompanied Asylum seeking Young people, adults from various backgrounds, I am attuned to the impact of trauma, displacement, loss, and belonging.
My psychodynamic training helps me tune into unconscious processes, relational patterns, and early attachment experiences that continue to shape the present. By making space for these often unseen or unspoken parts of ourselves, therapy can bring clarity and integration. I am also informed by therapeutic reflection and draw on both professional knowledge and lived experience, which deepens my capacity for empathy and connectivity.
Core values in my work include compassion, authenticity, respect, and empowerment. I strive to meet each client with openness, curiosity, and humility. I believe in walking alongside people rather than leading or fixing. Trust is central, I aim to create a space where individuals can express vulnerability without fear of judgment. I value cultural sensitivity and anti oppressive practice, and I actively reflect on my own positioning to support equity and inclusivity in the therapeutic space.
I particularly enjoy working with individuals, and those who may feel marginalised, misunderstood, or disconnected. Many of the clients I’ve supported come from complex backgrounds or have experienced systems that failed to meet their needs. I am drawn to working with people navigating identity, transition, trauma, loss, and systemic challenges. I bring a calm, grounded presence and use creativity, metaphor, and embodied awareness when helpful.
Ultimately, my approach is collaborative and responsive. I tailor my work to each individual, informed by their story and needs rather than a rigid model. Healing can happen through relationships, and I hold hope even in the midst of struggle. I see therapy not only as a space for coping and surviving, but also for imagining new possibilities, reclaiming voice, and creating resilience.
What I'm Like
As a practitioner, my style is relational, grounded, and human. I bring warmth, presence, and a deep respect for each person's individuality. I see the therapeutic space as a place where you can bring your whole, authentic self without masks, performance, or fear of judgment. Whether you're feeling broken, angry, stuck, or unsure of where to begin, I welcome you as you are.
My approach is collaborative rather than directive. I believe you are the expert on your life, and my role is to walk alongside you, to listen, reflect, gently challenge, and support you in making sense of your experiences. I create a space where we can be curious together, where difficult truths can be spoken safely, and where emotional honesty is met with compassion.
While I value depth and reflection, I also believe that therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. I bring appropriate humour into the room when it feels right, often it helps release tension, build connection, or shine light on something painful in a way that feels more manageable. I believe laughter and vulnerability can co exist, and that being human together is often what makes the work powerful.
Cultural sensitivity is central to how I work. I hold a strong awareness of how race, class, gender, religion, disability, migration, and other aspects of identity and experience shape our inner lives. I strive to hold a space where people don’t need to explain or minimise their cultural realities, and I’m always open to being educated by the client. I reflect often on my own biases and social positioning and aim to offer a practice that is anti-oppressive and inclusive.
Clients often tell me they value my honesty. I don’t shy away from gently naming patterns, asking challenging questions, or holding up a mirror when something needs to be seen. But I always do so with care, and with the relationship at the heart of it. I believe real change comes not just from insight, but from experiencing a relationship where you are fully met, understood, and invited to grow.
Ultimately, I want clients to feel that therapy is a space where they can exhale, take off the mask, and come home to themselves.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
When you come to therapy with me, you’re entering a space where all parts of you are welcome. You don’t need to arrive with a clear goal or have everything figured out. Each session is guided by what feels most important to you in the moment, whether it’s something you’ve been carrying for a long time or something recent that’s impacted you deeply.
I believe you are the expert of your own experience. My role is not to fix or direct, but to walk alongside you, to listen, reflect, support, and gently challenge where needed. Therapy with me is more fluid than structured, meaning there’s room for exploration, honesty, and flexibility. While we can work towards specific goals if that feels right, there is no rigid agenda. Life moves, and our sessions can move with it. Life often can be lifing, I am here to offer a space to unravel your life hurts.
You’re free to bring whatever you’re feeling, thinking, or struggling with. Some sessions might feel deep and emotional, others more reflective or practical, and sometimes we might even share a moment of humour or lightness. It’s all part of the work.
I engage with clients collaboratively, offering thoughtful reflections, asking open questions, and bringing in different perspectives when helpful, whether from systemic, person centred, or psychodynamic thinking. I also work with cultural sensitivity and awareness of how identity, background, and lived experience shape our inner world and relationships.
You won’t be judged, analysed from a distance, or expected to say the ‘right’ thing. You can speak freely, take your time, and be exactly as you are, angry, tearful, quiet, confused, hopeful, or anything in between. Together, we can begin to make sense of what’s going on for you, build your self awareness, and explore what healing or change might look like at your pace.
Our first session
The first session is a gentle starting point, a space for us to begin getting to know each other and for you to get a feel for how I work. There’s no pressure to share everything at once or to know exactly where to start. You’re welcome to bring whatever feels most present, or simply a sense that something in your life needs attention.
We’ll take time to explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. I’ll ask some open, reflective questions to help us understand what’s going on for you emotionally, relationally, or in the wider context of your life. There’s no right or wrong answer, just what feels true for you in the moment. You're in control of what you choose to share and at what pace.
This initial session also gives you the chance to ask any questions about the process and to see whether the way I work feels like a good fit for you. I’ll explain how I hold the space, including confidentiality, boundaries, and the overall approach I take.
Above all, my intention is to create a calm, respectful environment where you feel safe to begin your therapeutic journey. Whether you're clear on what you want to explore or just feeling your way into the process, we’ll move at a pace that honours your readiness and needs.
