A Little About Me
My Practice
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, born in Lebanon and based in London. I use an integrative approach to therapy combining the most evidence-based practices from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), including compassion focused therapy (CFT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and psychodynamic and systemic informed approaches. I aim to create, with you, a therapy plan that fits with your needs, goals and preferences.
I enjoy working with adults, couples and adolescents that experience, online or in person. I provide therapeutic interventions for a range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety and panic, insomnia, relationship problems, stress, depression, anger, OCD, phobias, PTSD, trauma, work difficulties, emotional crises, ADHD and bereavements.
I am also trained in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) assessment and diagnosis. Each assessment is different and includes a screening to determine if a full assessment is indicated, a clinical interview/observation, comprehensive report and feedback session.
What I'm Like
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a very important part of therapy as it allows me to understand interpersonal dynamics that could happen outside of the session. I believe that the therapy room can be an incredibly helpful place to start making changes. I aim to create a space where you will feel heard and validated. I am always open to feedback in how I can adapt my approach to you.
I grew up in Lebanon, a place full of cultural richness, different languages, and diverse perspectives. Being raised in that environment taught me the importance of tolerance, humility, and being open to others' experiences. These values are at the heart of how I connect with the people I work with and shape the way I approach therapy.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
Each therapy session is different and depends heavily on your preferences and goals. Some may be more fluid and explorative while others can have a specific agenda.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll work together to explore what’s been challenging for you. Sometimes that means learning practical skills to manage tough thoughts and emotions so they don’t feel as overwhelming or get in the way of daily life. Other times, we use to space to talk through thoughts and emotions, explore your childhood and sit with any emotions in a contained and safe way.
Our first session
In our first session, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other and answering any questions you might have about how therapy work. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you feel safe and at ease talking about what’s going on. I’ll listen closely to understand what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and together we’ll come up with a plan that’s tailored to you.
