A Little About Me

My Practice
My name is Jamie, I'm a Canadian living in the UK. As a compassionate integrative psychotherapist I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where my clients feel comfortable sharing their innermost thoughts and feelings. I specialize in addiction, depression, and anxiety. Seeking help can be scary, but I'm glad you're here. It's always an honour for me to be part of someone else's story, and if you choose to let me join you on your journey to learning more about yourself I will do my best to support you and meet you where you're at.
What I'm Like
How we feel and what we need changes from one day to the next. I will work to meet you where you're at, and often take a more collaborative approach to my work with clients. We may use humour one day and be more serious the next, maintaining flexibility where necessary. Building a relationship is the most important part of the work we'll do together, so I will do my best to remind you that I'm a person who is on my own journey as well and will share things with you about myself when it feels like it would be helpful.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

In our sessions we will always start with whatever is on your mind at the time. Sometimes this may lead us to look at things that have happened in the past, and other times we might stay in the present to find solutions. Either way the session is led by you, but I will be right by your side the whole time. The most important thing is that we have a relationship that feels comfortable and safe so that we can explore together.

Our first session

In an initial session I will likely ask more questions than I typically would, taking a bit more of a directive approach so that we can determine a starting point and find our place together. It's important that I can get a sense of who you are, while at the same time creating a sense of comfort and safety between us.
