A Little About Me

My Practice
With 5 years of experience, I have supported 100's of clients in transforming their life & relationship with self using therapy & personalised therapeutic tools. I specialise in working with women who are going through heartbreak after a breakup. The work we do is thoughtfully designed to help you navigate through this life change and get you back on your feet, excited for life again. My main therapeutic modality is Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) combined with hypnotherapy, visualisation & mindfulness practice. In a nutshell, ACT is about compassionately accepting what you can’t control, committing to what you can, and choosing to show up in ways that make life meaningful. ACT has been the therapeutic approach that I have seen provide the most profound change, even in a small number of sessions. When working with breakups, here are examples of areas we can work on together: Difficult thoughts: including (but not limited to) - ruminating over your ex; questioning what you did wrong; worrying about the future & struggling with the uncertainty; self-doubt & criticism Overwhelming emotions: including (but not limited to) - crying & feeling sad all the time; anxiety about moving on; stress in navigating the change Coping mechanisms: including (but not limited to) - struggling with social media dynamics; self-sabotaging behaviours; not knowing how to rebuild your life and move forward with your life. Together we will make sense of what is happening in your inner world and where you want to be. My endeavour is to always help you move forward at your own pace, help you can get your sparkle back & have this period be a time in your life where you can look back and see how much it shaped you.
What I'm Like
As a modern therapist, my intention has always been to show up as my authentic self. I too have been through difficult breakups, heartbreak & struggled with other difficult circumstances. I'm no stranger to anxiety, depression & other mental health battles. I share this openly so you know that "I get it". My story won't be the same as yours, as we all have unique experiences, but I bring both personal understanding and professional expertise to help you find your own way through. Other things you may find noteworthy: I'm a big swiftie, love reading (& Book Tok), a self proclaimed pilates princess & a cat lover 🐈

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

One of my clients described my approach as "the perfect balance between feeling your feelings and learning practical tools to move forward". In the first few sessions, it's really important we dedicate time to processing your inner world and situation at hand. This will also help build our relationship together. From here, you can expect bespoke practical tools which can be practiced in session as well as recordings & resources given outside of session. I also include WhatsApp support (M-F) so you can continue giving me your reflections & updates throughout the week. Ps, I'm a "homework" therapist! Connecting with our work outside of session is highly important in ensuring you are getting the most out of our support.

Our first session

We'll start with a 20-30 min introductory call (held via Zoom): This is a relaxed and informal chat designed for you to share with me what brings you to therapy & for me to paint a picture on how we can work together. You're welcome to ask any questions to ensure I'm the right therapist for you. From here, our sessions are 50-60 mins long (also held via Zoom). I will have already sent you an onboarding form so with our first session we can hit the ground running. You can give me more of the backstory of what happened, what you're going through and together we can figure out where you want to go.
