A Little About Me

My Practice
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist offering individual therapy for adults. I received my Bachelor Degree in Psychology and presumed my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Haigazian University in Lebanon. I successfully completed my clinical training at Embrace Mental Health Center (EMHC), in which I was exposed to different approaches, trained in various clinical skills and supervised extensively throughout my training. I was also part of Embrace's National Lifeline for Suicide Prevention (1564). I received a training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) from the American University of Beirut (AUB). I also received a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training from Brainstation Clinics in Lebanon in affiliation with the University of Oxford and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) from the AEDP institute. I am also receiving Psychodynamic training from Nafsaniyoun Center in Lebanon. The basis of my approach is relational and I borrow from various schools of therapy flexibly in response to my clients' needs.
What I'm Like
In therapy sessions, my frame of mind with my patients is compassionate, genuine and spirited with little humour. I offer a non-judgmental, safe space for my patients to gently challenge and explore different aspects of themselves, allowing room for self-discovery, growth and insight building. It is vital that you feel comfortable with my personality and therapeutic approach. Therefore, I wholeheartedly encourage you to be mindful of the quality of our rapport and to approach me with honest feedback. My approach is collaborative, meaning that with my education and experience as a psychologist, and your knowledge of yourself, together we agree on what to address and how to address it. I will always check with in with you throughout the process.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

The content and nature of therapy will depend on your distinctive needs and experiences, as well as the concerns that you as a client bring to the table. One of my main purposes as a therapist is to facilitate my patients' abilities to sit with difficult emotions, hold and embrace pain and find ways to navigate the pain through the journey of practicing acceptance in the presence of a strong restorative therapeutic alliance that is based on cooperation. A key practice in therapy is to learn to see, sit with or address things that we tend to avoid. Therefore, our therapy sessions would be explorative and fluid while focusing on the goals that we might first set in our first sessions.

Our first session

Our first session is an assessment session in which it would take a more directive questions to get a feel of who you are and the problem that brought you to therapy.
