A Little About Me

My Practice
Many people when asked what do you want in life, they would often reply 'I want to be happy'. Personally, I believe that happiness is never a destination. Happiness, like all other emotions, is temporary. It comes and goes. If it were up to me, I would choose being peaceful, self-aware and accepting of all emotions and knowing how to regulate them. We all go through distress and hardships in life, so in practice I tell my clients the goal isn't that you don't experience anxiety or low mood, but to learn tools and skills to understand these episodes and learn how to overcome and deal with them. Reflection is very important in therapy, but since I believe in action-oriented therapy I like to teach clients skills to navigate better and have a better quality of life. I like working with clients ages 18-50, suffering from disorders such as Anxiety Disorders, OCD, Depressive disorders and Eating Disorders, as well help clients who have interpersonal difficulties, anger issues, emotional inhibition.
What I'm Like
I am a structured therapist, I like to align with my client the goals they want to achieve in therapy or even figure out together the goals to create a better quality of life. You can expect me to dig deeper in understanding the thoughts, emotions leading to the behaviors. You can also expect me to challenge the thinking errors and introducing a dialectal way of thinking. There's isn't just one way of thinking about things. Also, adopting the balance between the logical mind and emotional mind is one of the things I encourage in therapy.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

I believe that having an empathetic and collaborative relationship with the client is a key ingredient to create better outcomes in therapy. Through this collaborative relationship, in which the individual feels understood, valued and safe, the individual will be more open for change and self-awareness. I always tell the client that we're a team, you're on the steering wheel and I am here to guide you and think with you to reach the destination that you want.

Our first session

In the first session, I will ask reflective questions to dig deeper in understanding the client. I will ask about the current problem, then I will inquire about the client's upbringing, family dynamics, fears, worries and interests and many more in order to get a grasp in understanding the client's personality. In the end of the session, I will ask the client to share with me their goals of therapy. After the first session, I usually send the client psychological assessments in order to screen potential mental illnesses, have quantitative evidence on the severity of the disorder and have a reference to assess progress mid and end of therapy.
