A Little About Me

My Practice
I am a trained Developmental Psychologist specialized in childhood and adolescence. I also work with young adults. My training has allowed me to develop a client-centered approach which is motivated by my conviction of individuals' capacities to improve their psychological functionning. Subsequently, my practice invites clients to explore the possibility of personal growth based on different intrinsic (emotional, cognitive, behavioural) and extrinsic ressources they have available (environmental, support network). I primarily work with individuals suffering from Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (AD/HD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavioral disorders, developmental delays, depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, Self-esteem issues, social skills problems, peer relationship problems, etc. It is important to note that I am fully trilingual (English, French and Creole-Seychelles). Therefore, sessions are conducted in the language of your choice.
What I'm Like
Jovial by nature, for me, it is important to remain authentic. I believe in being fully present during the sessions and providing a safe environment which welcomes all emotions. In addition to the active listening which I provide, I feel it is also important to work towards specific goals, based on clients personal needs. Together, we develop strategies depending on their willingness to achieve such aims.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

Sessions with me are based on the objectives defined during our first sessions. I remain flexible and broad-minded, in order to allow spontaneity. For me, it is indeed important to provide a secure emotional outlet which allows liberation from things which may represent a setback for clients.

Our first session

I am aware of the stress and apprehension which a first session with a psychologist may cause. The idea of opening up to a complete stranger may be scary, indeed. For me, the first session is all about establishing a therapeutic relationship, answering queries, clearing doubts, gathering pertinent information about your life journey and slowly exploring the challenges you wish to work on. The conversation goes as deep as you feel comfortable. You have the possibility to not fully disclose everything. This can be done during another session or not at all, if such is your wish.
